Tipton Elementary Update
The
last couple of months have been very busy for the elementary students
as they continue to learn and practice being students with good
character. Our Character Counts! pillars are Trustworthiness, Respect,
Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.
February 1st was an all school “hat day” in celebration of reaching the goal of 800 acts and words of kindness demonstrated by the students and staff of the elementary school. The next goal is that of 1,000.
An assembly was held that highlighted the character pillar of Fairness. Some of the younger elementary students performed a short play with a few adults from the staff called It’s Mine.

Responsibility
• Do what you are supposed to do.

• Think before you act. Consider the consequences.
Fairness
• Play by the rules.
• Take turns and share.
• Be open-minded. Listen to others.
• Don’t take advantage of others.
• Don’t blame others carelessly.
Caring
• Be kind.
• Be compassionate and show you care.
• Express gratitude.
• Forgive others.
• Help people in need.
Citizenship
• Do your share to make your community better.
• Cooperate.
• Stay informed. Vote.
• Be a good neighbor.
• Obey laws and rules. Respect authority.
• Protect the environment. Recycle.
